General Life Update
I took the GRE yesterday and scored above average in verbal and about average in math, I felt pretty good about my essays too. Along with my slightly above average GPA and unique travel experiences, I’m actually feeling somewhat confident about my chances of getting into grad school. If that doesn’t end up working out though, my backup plan is to volunteer with UNICEF/Peace Corps or just find a teaching job in some exotic location and reapply next year. It is extremely empowering to know what I want to do. I have spent the past 28 years dithering about because I wasn’t sure, but if I hadn’t been afforded the luxury of that time I never would have been. Once you know what you want, all you have to do is go and get it. And for me, that has always been the easy part.
